A BILL to amend and reenact section eighteen, article three,
chapter thirty of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuing the
board of medicine.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That section eighteen, article three, chapter thirty of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 3. WEST VIRGINIA MEDICAL PRACTICE ACT.
§30-3-18. Termination of board.

The board of medicine shall continue to exist until the first
day of July, two thousand one seven, pursuant to the provisions of
article ten, chapter four of this code, to allow for the completion
of a regulatory board review by the joint committee on government
operations. unless sooner terminated, continued or reestablished
pursuant to the provisions of such article.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the board of
medicine until July 1, 2007, pursuant to the provisions of the West
Virginia Sunset Law.

This bill has been recommended for passage by the Joint
Committee on Government Operations.
